Freesat is a multi-channel satellite TV offering developed as a joint enterprise between the BBC allowing homeowners in Oxfordshire the ability to access hundreds of free to air TV and digital radio channels on a no contract basis.
The service is comparable to the Freeview service offered through a terrestrial TV aerial and allows users to receive the same range of channels available with Freeview but using a satellite dish rather than a terrestrial TV aerial. The service offers users access to the service in high definition and gives full access to functionality such as catch up TV, live pause and rewind plus the ability to record.
